Recap: 15th Annual Calle Orange | | Music, Events, Culture in Orlando, FL.

If you happened to be downtown last weekend you probably had trouble getting through. That’s because Orange Ave was being prepared for Calle Orange on Sunday, October 27. The 15th annual edition of this huge Latin festival put on by Rene Productions stretched from Robinson St to Concord. That entire section of Orange Ave was blocked off with vendors, freshly prepared food, four stages of entertainment, photo booths, a mobile art gallery, and sun (definitely should’ve worn a hat)!

Several performers including new up and comer Shadstar and J Rand opened up the Power 95.3 stage. Their great stage presence set the tone before Ja Rule came on around 5pm and just gave it to us! All the songs we know him for, he did them. He had a great attitude and even joked about his two year stint in jail. Before heading out, he gave us a preview to his new song “Everything”.

Around 6pm B.o.B hit the stage with a whole ton of energy, like, it was a lot. He invited ladies up to twerk to his new dance song “Headband” and they definitely went in! His interaction with them had the crowd screaming and clapping. When he started to perform his new song “Up Down” featuring T-Pain, guess who snuck onstage with no dreads?! T-Pain! Either way, the charismatic performers made the long day worth it. Calle Orange was a great event and showed us some of the culture pride here in Orlando.

And with all the people who attended Calle Orange, you had to leave with at least one new friend. Check out the video of B.o.B’s performance from Gavin who we met backstage:
